gave me a birthday
to remember. My birthday fell on Friday the 13th of June, so it was a great night for a party. We decided to have a Hawaiian Luau theme, with a twist of Friday the 13th superstitions. We decorated the side yard of the house, and put together a yummy Hawaiian spread, and invited all our friends. Some of the highlights included learning the Hula dance from a Islander friend of ours, the hula hoop contest, the superstition trivia game, and the impromptu concert given by me and my friend Norene at the end of the night. Six months later (Michael's birthday is exactly six months apart from mine), I tried to keep up and treat Michael to a great birthday too. I took him out for an Italian dinner, and then to an entertaining magic show, complete with a disappearing act, a levitating woman, and a near death escape from a cage of spikes and fire! He was happy.
